What Happens When You Edit Templates
Administrators can manage edits to base templates and template variants. When templates are edited, the following will occur.
This feature is available for users with the Administrator role.

Scheduled Campaigns
The creative for a campaign is sent to your email service provider at the time the campaign is scheduled.
This means that, if you update a template AFTER a campaign is already scheduled, those updates will not apply to the scheduled campaign.
However, note that if you were to preview the scheduled campaign from Radiate, you will see that the preview will inherit the updated template. This is for the preview ONLY, and does not impact what will actually be sent to your customers. If you do not edit the campaigns after scheduling, the original creative will be launched.
If you would like the scheduled campaign to reflect the new template, you will need to do the following:
- Make sure the campaign is scheduled far enough in the future that making any edits will not impact the launch.
- Unschedule the campaign.
- Review all of the campaign content to ensure the proper copy, links, and modules are in place.
- Proof the campaign to check all the creative again.
- Reschedule the campaign. At this time, the updated creative will be sent to your email service provider and will launch to your customers at the scheduled date and time.
Unscheduled Campaigns
You will want to:
- Review all of the campaign content to ensure the proper copy, links, and modules are in place.
- Proof the campaign to check all the creative again.
- Schedule the campaign. At this time, the updated creative will be sent to your email service provider and will launch to your customers at the scheduled date and time.
Template Variants
If you make an edit to a Base Template, any Template Variants for that Base Template will inherit the creative updates. We recommend going to "Manage Templates" and reviewing all of the Template Variants to ensure they all appear as expected.
